Scouts Canada, Nova Scotia Council has been accepted as part of the Healthy Living Tax Incentive Program.

A new line will be added to the provincial tax return allowing parents/guardians to claim a tax credit of up to $150. per child (18 and under), who are registered in an eligible physical activity program.

Scouts Canada qualifies as a physical activity program which means parents can claim membership fees as part of this tax credit. Anyone claiming this credit will need to keep their registration receipt. When issuing receipts, groups must put the Group Name, and "Scouts Canada, Nova Scotia Council" on the receipt.
